About Headache Pal
The team behind the app, and how we write our guides.
What Headache Pal is
Headache Pal (on the App Store as Migraine Tracker: Headache Pal) is a calm migraine and headache diary for iPhone. Kip, a lavender koala, keeps you company while you log a headache in seconds, spot your patterns and get ready for your next doctor’s appointment. It is free to download, works in 9 languages, and keeps your logs on your iPhone.
This site has the app, and simple guides on migraines and headaches.
How we write
We are open about how our guides are made.
- Each guide is drafted with the help of AI.
- Medical facts come only from primary sources: the NHS, NICE, the International Headache Society’s classification (ICHD-3), the American Migraine Foundation, the World Health Organization, The Migraine Trust, Cleveland Clinic and peer-reviewed research.
- We open each source before we cite it, and we only say what the page really says. Every number and threshold is matched to its source, and each guide lists its sources and the date we checked them.
- We never tell you to start, stop or change a medicine, and we point to urgent care when a symptom needs it. No scare stories, no miracle cures.
- Guides are not reviewed by a doctor, and we do not claim they are. We fix mistakes as soon as we find them; the “Updated” date shows when a guide last changed.
Our guides are general information. They are not medical advice or a diagnosis. If your headaches worry you, talk to your doctor.
Who writes it
Every guide is published by the Headache Pal team. Headache Pal is made by a small independent app developer. We make the app and we write for people living with headaches, so we aim to be useful first and to be honest about what our own app can and cannot do. A paper diary works too.
